A public memorial service for Chancellor Oral Roberts will be held at the ORU Mabee Center, in Tulsa, Okla. on Monday, December 21st at 2:00 p.m. Doors will open at 1:00 p.m. for open seating. The service will be Webcast live on www.goldeneagle.tv.

We know this was announced a couple of weeks ago, but ORU is now debt free.

Former students and alumni who attended during the “dark years” of ORU’s staggering fifty million dollar debt should be glad that current and future students will enjoy a better education and campus experience in the years to come!

ORU Receives ECFA Accreditation

Back in October of 2007, we called for ORU to join the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability.

We are happy to report that this is now a reality. Positive changes continue to happen at the university every day. We can only hope that this will foster a growing trend of transparency among faith based non-profits.  Read the announcement here.

ORU to Lay off 100 Employees

Economic woes are touching almost every sector right now, and academia is no exception.  ORU is not specifying which departments will experience cuts – but cites it as necessary to remain fiscally solvent.  Ralph Fagin noted, “You can’t spend more than you’re taking in.”  We wish someone would tell that to the government.  Oh wait.

Roberts Separation Agreement Reached

Richard Roberts will get a $223,600 salary from the school, under terms of a separation agreement announced last Friday minus unbilled personal and travel expenses.  Richard and Lindsay still face a lawsuit from former ORU accountant Trent Huddleston.
